Servicelane
A service marketplace for vertical-specific freelance and skilled-trade work
Servicelane is a launch-ready service marketplace under your brand — TaskRabbit-shaped, but built for operators going after a vertical (electricians, dog walkers, freelance lawyers, nail technicians, on-site IT support) instead of a one-size-fits-all horizontal play. It pairs two-sided onboarding and Stripe Connect payouts with the parts a service-specific marketplace actually needs: provider availability, ratings tied to completion not just transaction, and dispute flows that anticipate "the work was done badly," not just "the package didn't arrive."
Key features
- Provider profiles with verified credentials, photos, and per-service pricing
- Customer-side discovery with location, availability, and skill filters
- In-platform booking with provider availability calendar and ICS sync
- Stripe Connect split payments with hold-and-release on completion confirmation
- Two-sided ratings with completion proof (photos, signature, geotag on dispatch)
- Provider mobile-first dashboard (works on phone, the only device they'll use)
- Dispute resolution flow with photographic evidence and refund / re-do paths
- Optional background-check integration via Checkr or Persona on Service tier
Architecture
Built on the Marketplace Stack.
What you get
Servicelane ships as a two-sided SaaS — customers and providers — under your brand. Providers complete KYC + an optional background check on day one and start receiving bookings within hours. Customers discover, book, and pay; the platform handles the split, the dispute window, and the post-job rating.
Sample customer story (placeholder — illustrative only)
A regional house-cleaning marketplace covering three cities licensed Servicelane to scale out of an ops team that was manually dispatching jobs by SMS. Within ten weeks of launch, dispatch ops headcount was reduced by half, customer NPS stayed flat (the bot is no worse than the dispatcher was), and provider supply grew 3x because the onboarding finally worked on the phone the providers actually used.
What’s NOT included
- Long-form goods rental. Use Rentyard.
- Goods commerce. Use Bazaar (multi-vendor) or Storeline (single).
- W-2 employment / payroll for providers. Servicelane assumes 1099 / contractor model — switching to W-2 is a significant scope expansion and a paid engagement.
- Compliance for licensed-trades regulation by jurisdiction. We integrate background-check and license-verification partners; we do not own that compliance ourselves.
