Boardroom

Async standups and meeting notes for distributed teams who hate sync calls

Boardroom is a focused tool for the daily and weekly rituals that distributed teams need but rarely run well — async standups, retros, weekly updates, and decision logs. It treats async-by-default as the norm and synchronous calls as the exception, so the deliverable from every ritual is a written artifact that future-you (or the new hire) can actually read.

Key features

  • Async standup, retro, and weekly-update templates with custom prompts
  • Slack and Microsoft Teams native flow (post and reply without leaving chat)
  • Auto-generated meeting summary digests from the Slack thread
  • Decision log with one-line search and per-team scoping
  • Optional anonymous mode for retros and feedback rounds
  • Reminder cadence per team, with timezone-aware send-times
  • Calendar-aware skip rules (vacation, holidays, no-meeting days)
  • Public read-only export per team for cross-org transparency

What you get

Boardroom installs as a Slack or Teams app under your brand on day one. Teams configure their rituals (typically standups, weekly updates, monthly retros) and the bot drives the cadence. The web dashboard is where the long-tail goes — past standups, the decision log, retro action items.

Sample customer story (placeholder — illustrative only)

A 38-person distributed engineering team licensed Boardroom to replace a half-working Geekbot install and a habit of “where do we put retro notes” that ended in Notion pages nobody re-read. After two months the visible win was the decision log: a quarter’s worth of “why did we pick X over Y” answers were searchable in one place, instead of scattered across DMs.

What’s NOT included

  • Synchronous video calls. Boardroom is for the async ritual; the sync call (when needed) lives in Zoom / Meet / Teams.
  • OKR tracking. Boardroom captures status; OKR tools track strategy. The two are different problems.
  • AI-generated standup updates from your calendar / commits. This is appealing and on the roadmap; not in the box today.
  • Per-message access controls beyond team scoping. Standup posts are visible to the team. Cross-team confidentiality controls are a paid customization.
